Training and Development

Continuous improvement and innovation of the training programs are essential to equip people for the production of world class fruit. The market changes rapidly and the need for quality fruit at an market related price is essential for the success of the company. This only comes about through people.

It is for this reason that the Karsten Group is focused on career planning for its permanent staff members and on job training for seasonal labourers. Each permanent staff member should have a training plan to enable him or her to improve themselves in such a way that they will ensure promotion should a vacancy arises.

Permanent staff members are continually in training for positions that could arise. Seasonal workers that show potential are identified and given opportunities at the end of the harvest season to ensure permanent employment for themselves. All employees are continuously exposed to health care, lifestyle skills, religious and literacy projects. It is further proof of our commitment to the employees of the Karsten Group. The only requirement for membership is to display potential.
